I want to start with an acknowledgement that having now surpassed the one-year anniversary of the Proactive Security Blog, it is much harder than I thought putting out a weekly blog. This is evident in my publication history. But, my inconsistent delivery aside, what an amazing ride this first year has been.
I want to take this moment to celebrate each one of you for your support. I am blown away by the positive support I have received. Since our start, the Proactive Security Blog has hosted over 5,000 readers from 60 different countries, and that number continues to grow. You have made this little endeavor a success.
My goal has been, and continues to be, the development of an ongoing conversation about healthcare security practice and violence prevention methods. I have tried to put an emphasis on those areas of our industry that I believe offer the best opportunity for our collective advancement. From bed side risk assessment tools to the strategic security officer concept, I want to continue to see the development of healthcare security practitioners across all areas of our collective interest.
To that end, I am launching the Proactive Security Podcast with my friend and colleague Brine Hamilton of the Healthcare Security Cast. Together we will both seek to further the collective discussion on violence prevention in healthcare. See our launch trailer below.
But do not worry, I am not abandoning the blog. I look forward to seeing where the next year takes the Proactive Security Blog as we continue to grow this conversation together. One year down, but much more ahead.
